Sporty's E6B Flight Computer app for iPhone and iPad
Based on Sporty’s popular handheld E6B Electronic Flight Computer, the E6B app has been designed from the ground up to make the most of iOS on the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and MacOS on Apple Computers. The software is based on the tried and true formulas and algorithms developed over the years by Sporty’s team of over 50 pilots.
Its pilot-friendly design makes quick work of any navigational, conversion or fuel problem and it also performs conventional arithmetic calculations.
The advanced timer/clock feature simultaneously tracks Zulu, Local and Home time zones. The timer counts either up or down, and will display an alert when reaching zero.

Pros and cons of Sporty's E6B Flight Computer app for iPhone and iPad
Sporty's E6B Flight Computer app good for
Good App but please add as soon as possible the faculty to fill in the pressure in hPa and not only in inHg. Thanks
Hi! Recently I bought the Sportys E6B Iphone software, version 1.3.3.
Could you improve, Kilograms in Fuel Units?
Thank You!
Thanks to the developers! Today is the best program. easy to use and allows you to solve problems related to piloting
Спасибо разработчикам! На сегодня самая лучшая программа. удобна в использовании и позволяет решать задачи связанные с пилотированием.
The iPad version is everything I hoped for and more. An outstanding job. Except for the exam and emergencies, I will retire the excellent Sportys electronic calculator, and the mechanical E6B is now scrap metal except for check rides.
Love your app, but would like to see the ability to +,-,x time expressed and entered hrs min sec. The old avstar did this and was a useful function. I imagine it would be easy to add to your efb app.
I have the Sportys electronic E6B in addition to the IPAD version. The one feature I really miss is the ability to do time math in HH:MM:SS format. There is a calculator provided in the IPAD app (which might benefit from bigger buttons), and maybe a ":" key could be added there (with the associated logic to handle it).
This feature is the one thing that keeps me carrying my electronic E6B in my flight bag (as opposed to just using the IPAD version).
I realize, of course, that converting HH:MM:SS to decimal time isnt rocket science, it is just a very handy time saver!
Some bad moments
All the necessary functions are there but its a basic no-frills E6B. One technical problem is that you often have to tap numbers a couple times to get them to register. Its frustrating.
The weight & balance doesnt store the info so you have to re-enter all values from scratch each time you use it. This combined with no graph display for W&B was a BIG dissappointment and means I wont use it. Come on how much does it take for the app to store the W&B arm and moment values and last entered weights??
All functions are pure text such as W&B as well as Crosswind which is sad given the potential for an iPhone app to display information graphically. Even some of the free E6B apps have this.
No weather! The free app Ive previously used can pull down the latest METARs. Remember guys you are building this app for a device that has an Internet connection!
It has a calculator function but no Memory key. When was the last time you saw a calculator without a memory function? Thats just silly! You also cant do time calculations ie 04:36:00 - 00:46:16 = ?? that would be really handy! I cant count the number of times Ive struggled to add or subtract a series of hh:mm:ss in my head for logging purposes.
Timer is just a single simple count up/down timer. No way to have an overall time, with time for the current leg. If you want to time the flight and have a hold timer ... you cant do both at the same time. The count down timer alarm will go off even if youve moved to another area of the E6B which is useful but it would be nice if the alarm provided a vibrate function because you cant hear it at all in the cockpit.
It doesnt remember the last function used. Everytime you start the app it takes you to the Pressure Density Altitude function. I would expect it to either remember the last screen used, or at the very least to be able to choose my start screen through a preferences option.
Is it worth $4.99, not in my opinion because you can get free or paid E6B apps that do the same things better. However this is a version 1.0 so Im really hoping that Sportys will improve it because it has real potential and a nicer interface than most of the others.
Too many things simply dont work properly on this app. Save your money...
Still very laggy , calculator touch button not responsive enought, TOO BASIC for that price !!!! Def. NOT worth the 10$ . Avoid it
Utterly disappointed that the watch app does not have any enroute options. Can not select any planning or enroute to put on my watch. Waste of $10.00. There are free EB6 flight computers all over the place. I made an assumption that for $10 I would get something for the watch useful for in flight purpose. Every single option, the 9, have to be calculated on the ground.
this app will not work with 2nd gen ipods, even if you have iOS 3.1.3 or greater. I have 4.2.1
The app has a lot of features, but it is ridiculous that you cant save any of your data if you switch to another part of the app. it seems like it would be so easy to save an aircraft profile so that when it comes time to calculate weight and balance all you have to do is update the aspects that have changes, e.g. useful load.
